[sun care] Why is it not "safe" to wear spf 100?
Main Post:
I understand the basics of sunscreen: UVB = burning UVA = aging. I know about dark spots, cancer, etc. But why do people not recommend spf 60+? I know that it only gives about 1% more than spf 50 but that 1% should make a difference right?
Also, I saw this article (can't remember it so can't link it) saying that higher spf ratings are more dangerous because you're getting less UVA protection? How would that work?
Also 2.0, anyone have any suggestions for mineral sunscreens that don't leave a white cast? I am not a fan of AB sunscreens unfortunately...have't found one that doesn't burn or make me breakout.
FYI, my skin type is Fitzpatrick III (light-medium with olive)
Top Comment: That myth about higher SPF being insignificant will not die. I have been heavily downvoted before, therefore I will not say anything, I will just provide a link to a video where these issues are explained better by someone with higher education. https://youtu.be/5ISHlw7j3t0
Wear and care of the bus driver cap
Main Post:
I have been issued a bus driver cap and Google isn't telling me much about proper care of a cap beyond how much better Marlow White caps are compared to the competition. How do I take proper care of it? (besides feeding it or keeping it in the box forever.)
Top Comment: Feed it 100g of flour and water equal parts every other day. Dump out majority of it before each feeding. Soon you will have a nice sourdough starter.

I've been wearing them with that mesh part facing my nose. More secure that way since I have large ears.
[Sun care] Do you wear sunscreen when the UV index is 0?
Main Post:
I live in the Netherlands and noticed that in December the average UV index is 0 and the average hours of sunshine is 1.6 hours. In those cases, do/would you wear sunscreen?
Personally I was using a light sunscreen. However, it also rains a LOT, like every day so light sunscreen that isn’t really waterproof just gets rubbed off.
Top Comment:
Not really tbh. I would wear it if the UV index is above 2 though. Link to how the UV index is calculated.
What to wear to orientation
Main Post:
So I got a call from the supervisor from a facility I applied for and she told me I didn't even have to interview, the job was mine since she already knew me from my current workplace and my work ethic. How should I dress for the orientation since I'm not interviewing? Should I still dress as if it was an interview, or more casual? Also, I wanted to wear flats but I can't find them. Would sneakers be ok with black jeans and a nice blouse? I'm sure I'm overthinking this but I dont want to be too over/underdressed

Id wear something comfortable because you are going to be sitting in a room watching training videos for those days if they are not putting you on the floor. Scrubs would be the best call if your unsure.
